Substitute Teachers Needed More + DOE Directive: Early Dismissal The Indiana Department of Education has issued a directive in regards to the use of scheduled early dismissals for purposes other than student and staff safety. In the past, these early dismissal days have been allowed to be used for teacher professional development; however, the IDOE has discontinued this practice effective September 2020. APA was scheduled to have 4 of these early dismissal days on our previously released calendar at the end of each grading term. In order to comply with the IDOE's directive, these days will now be full instructional days and we will release at our normal times. Days impacted include October 9, December 18, March 5, and May 28. District calendars have been updated to reflect this change and can be found here .
